What affects installation cost?

Distance from consumer unit

Each additional metre of cable run adds £15–£30.

Consumer unit (fuseboard) age

Modern CU with RCD: no extra cost. Old board may need upgrading (£200–£500).

Charger brand

Basic untethered: £250–£400. Smart/tethered: £400–£700+. Andersen/Premium: £600–£1,200.

OZEV Grant (EV Chargepoint Scheme)

Homeowners & landlords get up to £450 off installation. Subject to eligibility.
